The first form, called synchronous, allows students to participate in classes which are conducted in a live format. Using special software and a microphone, students can interact with classmates and the professor during each of the classes.
The other option for students is called asynchronous. Students enrolled in this type of class will enjoy greater flexibility as the online courses are not conducted live. They are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This means students can access them whenever it is convenient for them.
